My A/c just stop working. I checked the fan and it comes on if I jump it to 12v. I can also jump the compressor and it will kick in and blow cold air. so the "system" is ok.

I think the fan is controlled by a relay which also depends on the compressor being on so since the compressor doesn't start, the fan stays off.

I checked all the under dash fuses for continuity since I don't know which on controls the compressor and did not find a short - there are a lot missing though but since my A/C was working...

Anyone know which fuse is for the A/C?

Could it be the switch on the climate control? I can see the RPMs change at idle when I hit the switch but the compressor does not start.

System is charged and the pressure looks fine.

Where do I start troubleshooting?

get out your book, the red wire at the AC, does it have voltage? is there voltage coming off the fuse box? try to findout where voltage stops.
i had this problem, i had voltage off the fuse box but none at the compressor. i asume that the harness was bad, so i wired the compressor to a switch.

 

Found the problem!

There are two relays right above the compressor and the contacts were flaky becuase of excessive grease. I cleaned the contacts and everthing is running again.
