Default NEED HELP PLEASE

I have a friend with a '88 crx si with the stock motor. Car/motor have 148*** miles(D16A6). The motor is leaking coolant fluid from the back of the motor between the alternator and the oil filter, right below the water pump. What could the problem be?
ALL help appreciated.
Thanks,
Aaron

I replaced it a couple of months ago. I took the little plastic cover that covers the top camsharft pulley and it looked dry. If it was the water pump, I think the timing belt would be wet.

The water pump isn't near the oil filter.

The water pump is diagonally to the left, over the oil filter. In front of the alternator.

Yes. I don't care what you are trying to prove, if you are trying to prove something. It is in between the alternator and the oil filter and it is not the water pump. We just need this car up and running.

Actually I was not trying to prove anything, I was trying to help you out since you seem to think the water pump is next to the oil filter. I even provided you with a diagram so you could show us where it is leaking from. But sorry for trying to help.

Nah man, don't take offense by any means. What I mean is that the water pump is right in front of the ALTERNATOR, not the oil filter.

it's probably coming from the coolant pipe on the back of the block that runs between the water pump & the thermostat housing. there's a nipple on the pipe that connects to the IM i believe, check that.

i just had to fix a leak on mine after i built it, and it's a bitch to get to stuff back there. good luck

We had a buddy of mine come over and he thought it was that but said that it was dry in that area. We think it may be the waterpump. Has it even happened to any1? Bad water pump?

It appears to be the water pump lower "weep" hole. We are going to return the old one under warranty.
