For those of you with CF hood for JDM converted ITRs....
I was thinking about getting one and i wanted everybodies opinions of the different brands that availible out there. Can someone rate them for me....and describe the quality, fitment, weave, price, etc.... I heard that VIS are decent quality and are a good price for the buy......Ive seen TC spoilers CF hood...and it has gaps everywhere....Help me out guys....thanks
yeah this is a good topic to have. I'm curious on what people's opinion are on the various carbon hoods out their.
I know of:
Mugen
Jun
Spoon
VIS
Fiber Images
etc...
What are the fitments like? Are the edges wrapped with CF? Is the hood layered? Needs hood pins? Reenforced? etc....

fiber images is the best i have heard from most of ppl, theirs fit better than others. But about VIS, their filber glass stuffs never fits well, so i guess even the hood won't fit as well.

VIS is pretty decent for the price.. i paid like less then 3 bills for mine.. just make sure you expect it before you pick it up.. most of them are halfassed since they mass produce all the time but you can always find a clean one among a bunch.

Their weave is pretty darn good. Particularly the one on Yoshi's car, it's dense and tight.

i have a vis hood on my integra and it really fits well and has an even weave thoughout, unlike some FI hoods i've seen. the FI hoods are better quality though the damn vis hoods you can see through (at least the older ones)
oh well it's light and best of all one of the least expensive

The SPOON hoods fit great on both the jdm front ITRs and 99-00 civics.
No pins are needed but it's never a bad idea to add protection to your investment!

Yes, the VIS hoods are very lightweight. I think they are pretty nice for race but the FI are better for show.
I say get the spoon or Factor-x spoon weave.
