I HAVE BEEN HAVING SOME PROBLEMS WITH MY GAUGES/ FUEL READING. WHEN EVER I AM LOWER THAN 3/4 OF A TANK, AND PRESS THE GAS, MY FUEL METER DROPS WAY LOW AND READS AT NO FUEL. SO I HAVE TO GO BY HOW MANY MILES I HAVE? ANY LEADS ON WHAT THE PROBLEM IS? I HAVE HEARD ITS MY KNOCK SENSOR, WHATEVER THAT IS, OR MY CLUSTER ITSELF. ANY HELP???
THANKS
THANKS
sounds like either the gauge has a dead spot in it,or the fuel level sending unit in the tank has a dead spot.
the shop manual has a resistance range for the sending unit.i'd test it first.if it tests fine,i'd say it has to be the gauge itself.you can replace the just the fuel gauge assembly in the cluster.

ok, where is the fuel level sending unit and how would i test for it? ive looked for problems by my pump and everything looks fine. then i started to think that it could be my sensor in the tank itself. my gauges, that was my first thought of replacing fist. thanks for the help!

yeah it moves back, but slowly. the gauge will read a 1/2 tank, but i can gas it and it drops fast. it could then read empty, 1/4, or inbetween. but it slowly rises back up, if i drive slow, but even when i do drive slow, it does it too. but not as much
