Default Sounds like a blown motor help me out!

I have a 1998 Gsr with 120k miles and never had much problems but recently i have had an exhaust leak but i thought nothing of it maybe just a bad cat donut gasket. But yesterday i was driving around town and not even gettin on it and all of a sudden the exhaust noise just got really loud and sounded like a motor boat and the car start sputtering and barely accelerated when i pushed the gas. Also the CEL started flashing so i brought it home and just turned it off. I checked the codes with an OBII reader and it said engine misfire. So now i want to know what can i do to fix this what could have casued this. I hope i didn tblwo the motor i wasnt even smashin or over revving. If anyone has any ideas please help me out and thanks in advance

LOL...I have the same exact problem and it started today..I check my plugs and wires and they are fine and I get spark on all 4. Oil is fine...I am stuck. The car feels like its running on two cyl. This happened before but a spark plug wire came loose on the distributor...But now none of that happen, but they sound and behavior is the same....I smell alot of fuel also....I am too tired to mess with it now.....So any ideas?

When the CEL flashes, it means you are causing damage to the cataytic converter. You probably have a cylinder out. Check ignition, fuel and compression.

does it sound like a wrx with a exhaust? also... you can also try checking your spark plug wires.

which code was it throwing? theres usually 4 different misfire codes that correspond to each cylinder..

find out which cylinder it is then a leak down test would probably be best
