Default clutch sticks

Im helping my friend put an lsvtec into his crx si and we have run into a few problems. The biggest one right now is the clutch cable. We werent able to get a bracket off of a vtec engine so we had to modify the si bracket. It holds the clutch cable and we can adjust the clutch, but when we put in the clutch pedal it just stays all the way to the floor. I compared it to my clutch on my civic si lsvtec and only the cable moves up. And on my friends the cable and the rubber around it moves up. We are just baffled to what it could be. Any help would be great.

i dont see how it all the sudden can be broken. we took it off and it was just fine. I just dont see how it can break when it was just sitting there for a couple days. But I will run it by my friend and see what he thinks.

we are idiots. we just didnt tighten down the clutch cable tight enough. It looked like it was tight, but we werent even close to it being tight enough. Thanks for the responses though.
