Default wicked trunk leak!

My 91 sedan's trunk is full of water!

Where is this leaking from? It was 100% dry until it started pouring rain and now its half filled with water in the tire well!

I'm thinking its like my crx where the water was coming in from the tail light gaskets.

anyone?

Check above the tail lights. there should be three or four circular weld spots (well, my car has them). on one side, a few of them are beginning to rust through, and I've seen water coming from them.

I checked out my car today. Tailight gaskets for sure as I can see a steady stream of water coming from the tail light area.

My car doesn't have a lot of rust so I doubt that its rusted through.

another option is diy tailight gaskets. visit a specialty hose store and get a 1x2 sheet of 1/8" neoprene gasket material. Use the old gaskets a template and mark all the holes with a sharpie.
cut out all the holes with a utility knife. Lay the gasket over the tailight and make a "x" shaped cut over the threads. install tailight and gasket on car and tighten the bolts handtight. you'll need a 3/8 copper coupling and hammer for the next part. Remove the tailights and it's obvious where you need to punch holes. The gasket material costs $5 and you'll have enough to make three sets
