Default Ground Control break-in period. how long?

i've read there's a break-in period for ground control coilovers. i have them with konis and have some squeaking coming from the fronts everytime they move. i'm assuming this is the breaking-in as i just installed this past weekend. anyone know how long this period lasts? i'm really hoping the squeaking will go away. and is there a quick fix to that?

Yeah, I've never heard of a "break-in" period either. Your best bet would be to contact GC directly though.

I'm guessing the sound you hear is the upper spring mount grinding against the upper shock mount. As a spring compresses, it rotates slightly. So when you hit bumps in the road, or the like, the spring compresses slightly which causes the upper spring mount to rotate slightly. The mount rotates against the non-moving shock mount, and the result is the noise you hear.

The fix is pretty easy: apply some high pressure grease to the mating surface between the top of the spring perch and the bottom of the shock mount.

I recently installed GCs w/ tophats and Koni yellows on my DC and i am getting the squeaking sounds also, but its coming from the rear. It got worse after I took it in for a 4wheel alignment. This will go away also?

Ive searched the archives and i see others with my rear squeak suspension problem. None of them state to use the grease. A few problems/fixes i saw were to check the camber kit adjuster to see if it was screwed on tightly and bushings are dried out - so buy a new one.

I doubt it is the camber kit adjuster, so do you guys think its the dried out bushings or the need of grease?

TIA
