I got this Valvoline High Mileage oil filter that says that is been engineered by Purolator. The part # for it matches the Fram's, so is it fram or Purolator? I know fram is absolute ****, so i wanna know before i put that in. Thanks

 

imho, if you don't use an S2000 oem filter, you should use a Mobile 1 filter

i'm rather fond of federated brand oil filters. royal purple erl and federated filters.

Fram made good filters, then they were sold to a diffrent company and quality has gone down. atleast, tahts waht my brother said.

Yea exactly i always used fram and have never had a problem.

what is it about that quality that has gone down? design? or actual filtering? and is this proven or hear say?

 

Hamp or royal purple. If you spend 10$ on a filter you got a good one.

Isn't everyone a filter guy? That's assuming people change their oil.

 

i know frams fuel filters for y8s dont fit, tryed 3 diffrent ones, none worked, jack one from work, 20 mins later i have a new fuel filter up and running.

If you spend $10 on a filter, you're also paying about twice what you need to.

 

I like the "Sure Grip" on my Fram oil filters, I just changed my oil today, which reminds me I need to cut open the old filter and see whats inside.

since everyone jumped on the bandwagon and became an oil filter expert.

i use fram, and seriously, no matter which filter i use there is no difference. oil lasts the same amount of time and all looks the same.

 

There are only a few oil filter manufacturers out there. Most oil filters on the market are made by the same people.

Honestly, that whole "High Mileage" **** is a gimmick (sp?). The only difference between high mileage oil is that the high mileage oil has a few more detergents and it could about $3 per quart more and the same goes with the oil filter.

Buy the cheap Fram filter and you'll get the same filtration as a Mobil1 oil filter for hte most part.

...i've tried napas filter before...**** 7bucks for that bitch...haha..wasn't worth it haha...fram all the way...

 

what about those re-usable filters..i read it in some magazine (2nr or SS)..all you do is rinse and re-use..

 

na fram clean as grip no clamps

 

i use fram or k&n oil filters never had any problems

 

ya sure grip helps the oil changes but the snap on truck came by work one time and i asked for an oil filter he showed me this blue-point, it tightens as you loosen theres gears inside the actual wrench and fits on the end of a 3/8 drive, and if u spin it the other way it clamps closed as u tighten its reversable well worth the 27 bucks well, im a lube tech so maybe worth it for me.............lol,

everyone should check out that website and see that fram has gone to ****. Hence i am asking if my purolator engineered filter, with a Fram part# on it is good or not.
