I am helping a freind troubleshoot his SI that he just bought. the pump and filter were replaced but there is still an issue with the pump not turning on. doing some reading I found that the main relay is usually the problem. ... however that has been replaced and both relays actually test good. putting a voltmeter on the supply voltage I only get 8volts (battery at 11.8v). So I trace it to the ignition switch and to the fuse box.

when I wiggled the wires I found that my 8v connection dipped down to 7 or even 3v. so I did some issolated wiggling...
seems to be something with the ignition switch (which is impossible to get off).

is this common that the ignition switch goes bad?

all connections coming out of the ignition switch read 12v (11.8v) except the black and white striped wire that provides power to the main relay.

my guess is that it is suposed to be 12v.
