Default Stalls at lights!

Hi all. Would like to seek some help on a stalling problem I am experiecing. When I am about to come to a complete stop at the lights, my car would stall. I would depress the clutch to free my gear and the car would stall. This is just before it comes to a complete stop. My friend tells me its my idle being too low. I also have a frequent hunting rev problem at idle(usually with the aircon turned off). I have a PowerFC ECU. Should I adjust the idle on the ECU or the idle adjustment screw at the throttle body? What is the ideal RPM?

Any other idea? Hope to tune the small little things before changing something major.

Adjusting the idle control will only be a very temporary fix. Did you over rev at some point in time? It sounds like you have valve issues. Correct me if i am wrong but you have no problems with mid-high rpms right? Its only at lower rpms that your motor wants to stall.

The valves in our motors are light and flexible enough that they will seat properly at higher rpms making it hard to notice any difference, but when the rpms are at idle the valves no long seat accordingly causing your motor to stall.

Distributer car, rotor, S/P wires...

You could switch the igniter with a known good one before dropping the $ on one.

I am on prelude injectors. My car's idle hunts only at idle. I have no problems at low rev driving. I did not over rev my engine at any point. Only problem that I know at the moment is my ELD voltage being 3.5V and not 4.5V. Other than that, everything seems okay. These are the things I know which might relate to idling problems.

I had that problem with my old ej8. Tweaked the screw on the TB, worked but idling was unsteady at times between 1000-2000 jus going bak and fore, however, it got me out of the stalling problem. check your manifold, tb, disconnected tubes, and idle controller & valves.

I'd first check all vacuum pipes/hoses as this would also cause the symptoms you describe.

My first impression would be a vacuum leak as well. Have you done anything intake or throttle-body related?

Nope, i have not done anything TB related. It could be igniter since very very ocassionally i need to crank twice to start. Now I am getting another problem. My car surges back and forth on constant throttle cruising on the highway. It occurs when I go over some road expansion strip joints.
