Default Slipping out of gear, shift linkage problem?

I finally got my CRX back together with some hasport mounts and a 93 GS-R YS-1 trans, the trans has no grinds, shifts very smooth at all rpms, however it sometimes slips out of 2nd and 4th.... I had allways thought popping out of gear was usually a synchro problem, but the synchros feel fine when going into gear. The shifter on my car feels really wierd, it allways has (it was swapped when I bought it) I don't know anything about the shift linkage or the short throw shifter it has except that it worked fine with the random mounts/SiR Y1 the car used to have and never slipped out of gear. Could this problem be due to the shift linkage/shifter or is there somthing wrong with the trans? I'm leaning twards getting Hasport shift linkage and a new short shifter anyway but I'd like to know if anyone has any experience with this. Also can anyone reccomend a good shifter?
Thanks,
-Kurt

I've always heard of these problems being due to bad bearings in the transmission...

popping out of gear can be a sign your low on tranny fluid. try and check that

but the fact that the two gears are the farthest from the trans i would measure the linkage.

call hasport and ask for measurements so u can match yours.

So does anyone have any reccomendations for a shifter? Should I just get some sort of stock shifter or is there a good short throw?

Just a stock CRX shifter, or would some other stock honda shifter be better?

Just figured I'd ask as I don't have a stock crx shifer... So now I gotta go find one...

So has anyone else had this problem and know the cause? Anything besides trans rebuild ? I'm gonna get some hasport linkage and probably a shifter of some sort soon but I'd like as much info about it as possible.

Also I JUST put the trans on so I just filled it with 2 quarts of BG Synchroshift so I assume its full but I may pick up another quart and get the car nice and square since no trans fluid leaked out when I filled it it may not be quite all the way full...

YES!!!!! I filled it up (it took a quart more!! ) and now it shifts sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo smooth. My hasport linkage is allready on the way but hey it couldn't hurt to have the right length linkage anyway. I'll see if i can find a stock shifter next time im at a junk yard but i'm not too worried about it now that it shifts nice. Thanks for all the help guys, i figured my trans was messed up and i was just wishfully thinking i could do somthing to fix it but nope.
