anyone have any input on the cometic .40 headgaskett for b-series.

PS:do i need neew head studs with a thinner headgaskett

i was gonna get the spoon but the 1ply is discontinued

Cometic makes good head gasket but 0.4mm 1 layer is too thin so if you are not going to re-surface the deck then go Spoon 2p which seals better.

 

Stock is .032"
Cometic offers stock thickness, .025" thickness, and .054" thickness.
All gaskets are three layer.

Thinnest they go is .017", which is custom three layer. They do not do two layer or one layer, unless you want a copper gasket.

 

What AztecB17a means i believe is .40mm is what the spoon 1 ply is.
So i would say the .017 " would be a good one if the head is resurfaced, that will be a tad thicker than a 1ply Spoon.
