and the potential to make 210+ whp with just bolt ons....forgot to toss that in...the difference between a b18b and a b18c is about 30 hp (even less) but the potential is what youre making an investment in...

care to elaborate of why its whack??

i know the difference between a b18b1 vs a b18c1 even though one has vtec and the other doesnt...but both these models have i-vtec and i just want one to maybe play around??? because basically i can sell my LS motor for $1000 and put $800 more and get a k20a base....

i already answered your question

if you intend to swap a motor and run 12's youre heading in the wrong direction...your switching platforms to open new doors...and let me tell you...youre not opening any doors by going from b18b to k20 base...in fact you shut some of them

The base model is an economy engine, it doesn't have the "real" vtec, it has ivtec, but it's only there for fuel economy, not power. You'd be better off getting an accord/crv/element k24 because atleast you'd have torque with the same horsepower. I'll have to see if the old SCC article is around that compares the SI to Type R when hasport did the type r swap into a brand new SI.

Edit: Here's an article that explains it http://www.sportcompactcarweb....pe_r/

There is a lot more to it then just buyng the motor for 1800 and bolting it up to your teg. Its a pretty extensive swap. You'd be way better off buying a b18c.

if i'm not mistaken, another big difference would be the stock internals. kind of like the difference between b18c1 and b18c5.

None of u guys were able to explain it right, the diff. bet base model and type r is a lot, the compression on the pistons, better flowin head, way more aggressive cams, higher reving, lsd, six speed, it's better than the base model in all aspects.
More Power and Potential.
