Default help with my Ls v-tec

i need some help on finding and getting good quality parts that make good hp, i have a b 18a built by whitfield racing, with 12 to 1 comp. ariaz pistons,and am looking to build my head but dont know what is best! i am going to run itr cams and cam gears, what valve trainset up should i go with. and should i get my head milled?

Stick with the tYpe ARH, because vtecH kicks in on the 2nd ring as opposed the b16 it kicks in on the third ring yO!

If you're running ITR cams all you need is ITR valvetrain. BTW v-tech is spelled vtec. You're gonna get a lot of **** if you don't spell it like that.

i ran type r cams on my stock gsr head i had no problems

it shouldnt be a big problem if it is a problem at all. The more aggresive lift and duration on the ITR cams is the reason dual valve springs are suggested. When in higher RPM's you run a higher chance of having valve float.

You don't have to upgrade the valve train, you'll be fine with ITR cams. I would go with the Blox Type A cams, they are cheaper and better than ITR, the have a higher lift and duration.

I would build the head with more agressive cams that would obtain the most power out of the fully built block

upgraded valvetrain would be required to run cams such and skunk2 stage 2's, blox type B's, buddy club spec 4's and you will easily break the 200 whp mark
