B18 Worth it?
hey all,
i got an '89 crx with the stock 1.6 in her (si) it has a blown connecting rod and block. what dop u all think would an 18 be worth the time / money to do a swap? or should i fix the 16 just wonderin.

I'm putting in a B18 in my 91 civic si...because it has better torque than the b16...and the d16 you have....and you can do the ls/vtec to get the hp...AND its not too expensive...concidering some of the other alterintives... so yes i think it is worth it.

Im ahead of the game, my 88 HF is getting a 91 1.8 because i got the whole car for $50 bucks from a junkyard, an AVC-D for free, and some other stuff pretty cheap. all I can say is good luck, and if your engine doesnt turn out the way you want it, do what the kids in this area do: blow it up with NOS and have your parents buy you a new one. get a b18b lil more power than the b18a. superhatch got his longblock for 500. great motor
