im on my 2nd d15b7 (92-95 DX coupe). my first one blew the first day i got the car, bad ring lands, spun bearings, etc... put a baseball sized hole out the front of the block.

my 2nd d15b7 is doing better, but it is still obvoius these lack in longevity. i got this 2nd motor as fresh as i could find, and 3 months later, its trying to crap out on me.

dont spend money on crap man, just my opinion.

but to answer your question, it is relatively simple to convert obd1 to obd0 (pre-obd), i dont see why it would be much different to convert obd2 to obd1. good luck with a swap.

You can buy OBD2-OBD1 conversion harnesses just about anywhere. I mean, any aftermarket shop can get you one. Heck, check in classifieds here. I know there are tons of people on here that either have one, can get you one, or can make you one.

Why not just look for a USDM Y8 and stick that in there? Direct replacement. No swapping ecu harnesses or worries accessory(power steering, A/C) fitment. You should be able to get a Y8 longblock under $500 with pretty low mileage.

I agree with screw city. To run an OBD1 motor in an OBD2 car, you'd probably have to use the OBD1 motor harness and the corresponding ecu. Or you could swap all the sensors over from the obd2 motor to the obd1 motor. Only thing is that obd1 motors dont have crank angle sensors. So in conclusion, try to find a single cam obd2.
