many states/cities have a smog/emission test where they test your exhaust for excessive nox levels. IF you fail, you must fixt it.
Hell, some states even have visual inspections of the car and if its not stock, it fails. IF the car does not deem worthy of driving on the road (unsafe) it fails too.
many places like good ol' boy country Orlando Florida don't have any of these tests.
If you don't know what they are, most likely you do not have them either cause you would have to have them done to get the car registered and sheit.

IMO I think your best bet would be to check out last months Honda Tuning magazine online, and take a look at the silver EG. He is running a stock GSR (B18C1) with a turbo kit, and is running over 300hp. You get the swap now, and you can add the turbo later. I personally have helped to install 10 or more B16 and B18's into EG and EK hatches and have had no problems, as long as you get everything needed prior to starting the installation. You really don't need a whole lot to install any of the B series engines into your car. The ITR (B18C5) has a good bit of power stock, but if you add up all the prices to get it and install it, you might as well have purchased the GSR engine and the turbo kit and had more hp for the same price or just a tad bit more. That is just my opinion but the final choice is up to you.
