i was at the dealership today at the parts dept and as i was walking out, 3 salesmen come up to me and ask me if i'm selling my car. i said not right now but asked them if they were interested. they said hell yea and they'd do anything to get me to sell it. they asked me around how much they would have to pay me or somebody to pay me to get rid of it so i threw out a pretty high number like $20K and they said thas a fair price. my car is a 2000 with 52k miles on it (yea i know that's frickin alotta miles). i don't wanna sell my R but would you give it up for $20K?

 

do it.. I have seen ppl on ebay sell 200 itr's with 20 k miles for 20 k thats a good deal for you di it.

You better get $20K form a dealer now before you only get $16k from your insurance company to settle your theft claim.

Sell your ******* car, I'm sick of hearing people asking if they should sell their R. Is it really up to us? You want my opinion? Kiss my ***, thats my opnion. I ******* swear people dont know the meaning of "enthusiasts". I love my car and I dont treat it like some kind of machine that you can get rid of like a toaster. I see people like this all the time they buy a car then sell it a year later cause they're "sick of it", ******* cope outs.

Everybodys always talking about how "special" the R is and then when some total stranger offers them xxxxxx amount of money they contemplate selling it, it pisses me off. Another thing is about the theft issuse, I'll be damned if I sell my car because some random theif is gonna steal it, another cope out. Sorry for the rant.....

 

That's a lot of miles for '00. If you have extended warranty, keep it as they would only give you $20k... however, if they will buy it back at $23k, then I would take that cash and run.

Hey man, when you live in Theifville, you have to worry about that ****. I've been driving around my backup car for 2 months. I love it, but damn, it hurts not to have my Type R. AND, what's more, it sucks to have to worry about another R being stolen. That's why I probably won't get another. I don't have a garage to lock it up, it was my daily driver. I had no choice but to park it for the whole world to see, & for every little punk *** bitch theif to take a crack at. And, some bitch got it. You can't blame people for selling their car. It's not like getting your car stolen is a minor bump in the road of life. I've been dealing with this for 2 months now. I feel almost as bad for the people who keep getting their emblems, spoilers, & other assorted parts stolen. At some point, you just have to realize that it is simply not worth it. It doesn't make you a "sell out", or a "non-enthusiast".

Yeah maybe the theft part is a little harsh, sorry about your loss.

I still stick to what I said above, I too live in a high theft area and I do watch where I park my car but that doesnt justify me selling it (although I do have a garage). It's kind of sad when I have to be careful where I park my R and I can park my Supra anywhere (to an extent).

BTW CW ITR's I will have one some day.

 

my car has been broken into 3 times and not just stereo was taken. the full interior was taken twice and another time an attempt to steal the car but only the seats and shift **** and stereo were taken. my insurance is no joke right now. THAT is why i am considering selling it, not cause i'm not an enthusiast. don go out spitting stuff that applies to people that take their R for grantite. thas not me, believe me i love my car but under the circumstances 20k is alotta money and i never even said i'd sell it, i just asked opinions. you talk about the R as if it the best car ever assembled. don be so foolish man, the R is one of the best handling, quickest, exclusive cars out there for imports, but believe me it isn't god of the road...
