An EK is 96-00 hatchback. An EM1 is 96-00 Coupe. Whats your question?

Wrong. EM1 is specifically 99-00 Civic Si (Sir in Canada)

EK9 is not a USDM code. Its the JDM code for the CTRs. The USDM code for 96-00 HB is EJ6.

Anyway. Which car are you asking for? 96-00 Coupe, HB, or sedan? I'm guessing you mean HB since you think it might be a foot longer. You are most likely correct. I think the axleback/muffler portion will need to be extended.

I will be trying this swap soon. I used a 99-00 Si exhaust from the cat to the muffler in a 4-door and it barely fit. I hope that helps somewhat for comparison.

the muffler will stick out like 4 inches further than it should. you could cut it and weld it shorter, or get a muffler shop to do it for you.

and it really doesn't stick out that far, it sounds like a lot but it doesn't look that bad.
