Can someone tell me what and where the CPS sensor is.
My car has been throwing the 9 code CPS Cylinder Postion Sensor I have no clue where and what it is. Could someone help me out please
The cylinder position sensor is in the distributor in obd1, dunno about obd2, and if you are throwing this code than I can almost gurantee that your shaft bearing is falling apart. And when this happens little metal shavings and dust get in on and around the magnetic sensors in your distributor.
The same thig happened to me. I just got a whole new distributor and forgot about all of it...

i had one go out in my obd-2 dizzy i converted to obd-1. it`s in the same spot as an obd-1 . take off the cap and rotor and rotor cover. where the shaft runs thru the dizzy there is a sensor aimed at the shaft with 2 screws in it that hold it on . i swapped the one from my obd-1 z6 dizzy to my b-series obd-2 dizzy and it was the same . no problems since then .
