Default my first car..

well i bought my first car 8/24 and its a EK 96 DX.i had like 2 pics floating around but i bought a digi cam from fryz for 88 billas wooo so i took a much more.it came with projecter headlights,a really loud annoying megan muffler, megan intake with no intake manifold..,megan headers,17's and a megan camber kit basically stock though.i think the previous owner was megan crazy.the hood was faded and it had retarded sun spots so i tried to paint over it so now it has wrinkles..its soo ugly..but i spoil the crap out of my car, more then my gf lol shes quite jealous of it.also ive been wondering..im about to buy a new exhaust system been wondering whats a good one that has a DEEP low quiet sound..the megan muffler right now its a freaking loud piece of garbage that screams in mid RPMS I HATETEEEE ITTTTT ..ive been thinkin ws2 but its way over my budget ive been lookin on ebay theres alot but no clue whats good and whats quiet..200 below budget so please HT ppl help me out..heres the rider..

loud piece of crap

exhaust leak missing screw..no clue where to get one either

worked alot on the outside..so yeah suggestions for a quiet deep exhaust system?thnx for comin

good starting platform....paint that hood....also just a suggestion while painting that, should paint your lip, mirrors, mouldings, sideskirts, and rear plate area. should look up some ek's that have those all painted looks good. megan exhaust to me is not that bad, do you have a header?? cuz might want to get that first since that will change your tone as well, after that then look towards an exhaust, but first i would go towards a header

Last time I checked with my local muffler shop you can't even get a stock catback for a civic (mine's a '95 EX) for under 200 dollars...'tis why I have the N1 on there now, because that was kinda free...and I don't feel like spending 200 for a stock exhaust, it doesn't matter that much to me.

Maybe you can find a cheaper one though, from a junkyard or somebody who retails Honda pars. Try http://www.slhondaparts.com.

But you're leaning towards aftermarket...I don't know what you can get for under 200 dollars aftermarket wise new...you'd have to buy used. And any exhaust crap from an ebay store 9 times out of 10 blows.

Better than some of the newbs RideZ on here.

Like Pzn801 stated, good platform....not beat up or riced out....easy fixes

Looks like you got a good first car. Take care of it, and it will take care of you.

Find a used RSX Type-S muffler...I've seen em as low as $40-60 shipped on ebay. That bolt you can get anywhere...maybe even stop by a muffler shop and see if they can slap one on there for you for a couple bucks. Is that a stock hood, just painted black? The $250 will be worth it being done correctly...and I agree with the post above about getting all the other little pieces painted. Good start...make it show AND go tho

That car is flashy. Security should be a priority. And if you worked hard for it (first car) you don't want it gone.

keep the car how it is if your on a budget, it looks pretty good the way it is but repaint the hood . i could have sworn it was a carbon fiber hood but i picture fooled. but if u like it black keep it the way u like it. if your on a budget, do what i did. take it to a muffler shop and spend like less than 100 on the whole cat back considering keeping your catylic converter(not to mention you get to pick you own diameter) and buy a reputable axle back from ebay or the market place on here. holler

That's actually a very good price for painting your hood and roof.

if you want a quick and cheap fix for your exhaust, go to autozone and get a muffler with the correct size inlet/outlet for the system that is already on there and the correct offset (inlet in center, outlet offset). Thats what I did when my cheap *** muffler rusted away that was part of my cheap *** catback I bought. The one I have was designed to fit a jeep wrangler (because of the 2.25" piping and offset), no joke, its looks stock, is fairly small, is very quiet, has a somewhat deep tone, and only set me back $20.
