I was just wondering if a skunk2 intake manifold would be worth the cost? And if it has a noticeable increase in power. My setup now is a jdm jazma header, aem short ram intake and 2.25 exhaust from the header back, all on a B16A second gen sir2.

 

You should get a camshaft first.

 

I read in Honda Tuning that they put a Skunk2 ITR Style Manifold on a USDM GSR with that butterfly style mani. It was a gain of 5whp alone. You probably wont see many gains with it on a b16 until you do some sort of headwork in the form of aftermarket cams and valvetrain.

 

You might gain a little power up top but will probably lose some in the low/midrange. Just keep the B16 manifold

 

I'd buy a BLOX before I'd buy a Skunk2.

Why? Its the same thing... If anything I'd rather have the Skunk2 for the "carb legal" **** (since he's in CA)

 

i'd rather have someone buy my blox for $100

and "jazma" isn't a brand buddy. It basically means it's carb legal in japan

 

I'd rather put the money towards a turbo setup instead of buying expensive name brand parts for small power gains.

But that's just me...

 

1) My county doesn't have smog. (not in CA)
2) Cheaper

Yes, it is the same thing, but with skunk2, you just pay for the name.

I have a Skunk2 intake manifold on my D16 and it didnt help out much really.

 

Thanks for the advice. I steered away from the manifold and I'm buying a hondata unit instead since i'm going boost anyway. So i can use that now and when I go boost, thanks again for the help.
