Attaching the shiftboot to the knob on an 00-01 ITR
Has anyone found a good way to attach the shiftboot up closer to the shiftknob on the 00-01 ITR?
The way it is, it just looks unfinished to me. I know some of the newer hondas use a pretty slick way with a plastic insert (RSX, 01-05 Civic optional ****), but wanted to see if there was a known way.
BTW--I did not search, so STFU

id like to know if anyone has got the jdm boot to fit tight up agains the bottom of a 97-98 ****, those clips are in the way.
I have a skunk2 **** and have a washer under the boot that keeps it up close to the know. Hard to explain, I'll see if I can get a pic tonight...

Yeah, a zip tie below the boot is a decent idea. IIRC, that's how the RSX keeps its boot up with the aluminum shiftknob.
I may give that a try.

I got to thinking a little more. I bet a band clamp on the shift lever (inside the boot) would hold the boot where I wanted it
I recently finished fitting my OEM JDM Honda boot (red stitch).
I kinda see where you're comming from with attaching it to the **** but the boot itself doesn't appear to have enough slack for this. If I try holding the boot up closer to the **** with my hand, then moving the shifter to Reverse the boot gets too tight. Anyone else notice this? I've just learned to live with it, eventually it'll wear in and settle, but all in all I think it looks nice.

Yeah, I have the JDM ITR boot as well. One could always leave a little slack to allow the shifter to reach all gears without stretching.

Glad you had time to tell us that. Onviously your life wasn't important enough to not post in this thread

Like I said above, I have a washer underneath that makes the boot sit where its at. Its kind of a PITA to get the **** on straight but once you do it looks good! Mine has been this way for over a year now.
