Default disconnected VTEC?

If the vtec on the motor is disconnected, does it mess up the engine if u drive like that? Or if u punch it? Some guy told me there some kind of $60 vtec switch to turn it on, is this true?

why the hell would you need to turn VTEC on when you already have it?

Maybe you want VTEC to engage when the engine is cold? There's a reason why it doesn't engage until you warm it up, you know...

Maybe you're asking about the VTEC solenoid?

I don't know how much they run, but if it is not working... you'll get an error code from the ECU.

What hes talking about is that there is this switch i believe its called the RPM ACTIVATED switch and MSD sells it. and with the that i believe that you need to buy a pill set and relays. So im not sure where that switch goes too. so if any has an idea where it goes to.....

question: I've heard that a VAFC engages vtec all the time...not paying attention to oil pressure or operating temp.

true/false?

False...V-AFC will allow you to adjust the VTEC engagement point.
