If the vtec on the motor is disconnected, does it mess up the engine if u drive like that? Or if u punch it? Some guy told me there some kind of $60 vtec switch to turn it on, is this true?

 

It wouldn't mess up your motor, but why would you wanna unplug it anyways?

can't unplug vtec, not that easy. you'll throw engine codes and your ecu will be in limp mode. car will run like crap.

It will run without VTEC. It will drive fine. You WILL however throw a code the second you hit 5-5.5k and the car realizes that something is wrong. You're redline is now 6.5 something, and you're car is officially slow.

But no, it won't hurt anything.
