Default b17 for ls vtec

wat do u guys think about the b17 for ls vtec, some guy is tying to sell it to me for 200 buck and its complete, wat do u guys think, cause i just want it for my ls vtec but if it cand handle then i dont want it. it just come with the head no tranny or block, i already have a b18a block i just need the head. but im not sure how well it will do with the block, or is it just better to go with the traditional b16 head

200 what is wrong?

That motor is rare, does he have proof it's legit?

The head is same on the b16 so yes it'll work fine for lsvtec.

B17 has same bore as B16 (81mm) - difference is in the stroke, B17 = 81.4mm, B16 = 77.4mm

in all honesty, if it was MY engine, and doing an ls vtec, I would use a b16 head. But its w/e, its your car, your motor, your $$$. Just be happy with what you choose.

In all honesty, you have no idea what you are talking about being its same head, and gsr head is flat out better. even more so when comparing it to older b16 heads.

Smallest cams worst castings, gen1 b16s are just lame.

I will agree with your 2nd statment do what you want it's your car in the end of the day.

b17 stuff is really hard to find for 200 bucks. get it. It is a much better head than the b16. Ive seen more d16s out last the 1st gen b16!
