Default My DD/Project Car *Pics*

1990 Honda Civic DX. I bought it back in June completely stock.

stock:

here is what it looks like now...

went through a week where I thought leopard looked good on the car ... i took that off :-p

HX Wheels, slip on exhaust, short shifter, ebay lowering springs, cold air intake.
Not to many mods - I wanted to keep the car clean and focus on performance instead of wasting money on visual mods.

My immediate plan is to swap an engine in. Right now its has the stock D15 5-speed in it, i'd like to swap a B-16 or B-18 into it. Im on a small budget right now so i'll probably do an all-motor b-16 swap. I'm just having trouble finding one around where I live.

tell me what you think .. im open to all suggestions and criticism

You want to do an all-motor b16A swap on a small budget? If it can be done, mor power to you, but look to drop at least $5000 if that's your plan. Otherwise, nice and clean body, thank god you got rid of that leopard bullshit (WTF were you thinking?). Anyways, good luck with the build, you've got a good starting point.

i vote for a LS swap if your on a budget.. Do some research and you can modify integra mounts to work.. You can do the swap with all junkyard parts, including the motor if you use a b18a1.. Heck you can get the stuff at a local pick and pull, it will just be alot of work for you, if you want to go fast at the track do a B18A1 with IHE and nitrous.. If you want to go fast on the street too (some do some dont as much) you can throw together a simple turbo kit for cheap as well.. If you want to stay NA and your on a budget.. i suppose you could do a b16, im not really a fan of the smaller 1.6L motors though.. But better yet you could aventually do a LSvtec setup using your existing LS swap.

Goodluck

there is no such thing as a low budget all motor project.

convert to MPFI, then turbo it. 200 whp is EASILY attainable. everything total should cost you less than $1200. it will still be reliable, and faster than a b16 swap

I would keep that cars as a complete sleeper. Looks great. I also agree....motor builds are pricey.

sorry to steal thread, but did you use a camber kit with those egay lowering springs? I have a set too and I've heard many different opinions about camber kits. clean hatch!

I love the black wheels/trim/bumpers. The brown interior with gold exterior makes the car look even better.

i'd lose the foglights and pinstriping. also the red brake paint looks cheesy.

overall it gets

nice car.

A b16 swap will cost about $2500, if you do it yourself. What ever you do is going to cost money just don't half a** it. For instance if you swap the motor, change the water pump, timing belt, spark plugs and wires, the distributor cap, new clutch, pressure plate, re-surface or new flywheel, etc.

You get the picture

the leopard wasn't photoshoped :-p

What I meant by All-Motor was that I wanted to slowly build the motor up, and not just slap a turbo on it.

I thought the fog lights looked good? I agree with the pinstripping ... whats the best way to remove pinstriping?

Trim paint is coming soon :--p

I haven't used a camber kit yet - I'm not sure if its visible but I the front wheels do bow in ALOT.

I keep hearing about dropping an LS into it, but I can't find one around my area for ****.

true I guess... Im done with the car as far as visual mods go. However I would like to get a set of seats that are a little more secure/comfy, other then that all my money is going in the piggy bank to go towards a motor
