Default Amp Buying Help?

I am new a knowing about amps and I wanted to know what kind of amp to buy. I have a 97 integ gsr and the system so far is stock speakers and I have a 12inch MTX with a box. I want an amp that could sound good with my sub and my stock speakers. I have a pretty brand new Kennwood deck. I would really appreciate if I could get some help.

are you trying to use one amp to power the whole system? like a five channel or a 4 channel- front and rear running parellel and using 2 channel of the four and 2 channel of the four channel amp pushing the sub. what sub do you have? model of the mtx sub.

I don't remember the model number of the sub but yes I would like to use one amp to power the whole system. Just like the 4 channel front and rear running on 2 channel while the sub is running on 2 channel. I have a 12 inch. MTX

I am going to need to find out what sub you are running. It matters because of ohm's law. Most 4 channel don't like to go below 4 ohm bridge. So I need to know if its a svc or dvc. What ohm is the speaker and it rms. So we don't under or over power the speaker.

Yea you got a big daddy sub, lol. I remember thoses. Thats a great sub. I would perfer two amps for your set up but you can get away with this. First you are going to need to make sure that you true 4g wire running to the back. a cap could not hurt either. Check out the soundstream amps

http://soundstream.com/amplifiers-reference.html

or this one

Look at the 5 channels models. My old teg thats now my lil bro we are running a reference 5 channel pushing 4 tens and front and back alpine type-r and it rocks. This set up will work for you. You can check out the pic in the sig of the car. This company has been out around for a long time and is not a fly-by nite. I have been selling them for years. There quality control is great and I seen it for myself.
