Anyone ever relocate their power spurce in their 96-00 Civic?
power source Yes I misspelled it!
I relocated mine to my center console armrest, just because of my ipod. I have the ipod cable in there too so I figured why not? I'll have pics later if you guys are interested.

Well in the 96-00 Civic it is only a power source, not a cigarette lighter. I'll get pics tomorrow.

That looks cool. did you completely relocate it or did you just link to it?
If I did it I would have linked to it so I had more than one outlet.

That's a great idea. I request a write-up for the power source relocate and hooking up the I-pod cord to the radio.

I wired in a DC outlet in my benz because the OEM one's made for lighting cigarettes (doesn't work to well for DC appliances) - though mine was just hanging out of the hole I drilled....wasn't nice 'n neat like yours. It was a $4.99 hack job w/ parts from radioshack :-P.

I relocated it with a new one, the stock one is still in place but I do not have it spliced for use, I didn't want to draw too much power maybe causing a short or something.

I will have to do that, the ipod cord hooks up to the stock stereo using this $60 gadget I got from Circuit City.

Luckily I had the right size drill bit (thanks to my pops who had it) and it was a perfect bit for the job!

I read this post this morning so I went to the junk yard and got an outlet and hooked it all up. I spliced it though so I could still use the stock outlet. Thanks!

Well I am glad that I could inspire someone to do something like this. Did you also relocate it to your armrest?

Yeah, I moved it to the same spot. I noticed when I was cutting the hole, the underside of that pocket had a circle already etched in the plastic. So I just cut along that and it was a perfect fit. And like I said, I just spliced it in to the stock wires so I could keep my original source.
