Default Jumping out of gear

So I have had my 02 type-s for about 2 weeks now and I like it a lot, but I have a question. When im shifting and I put my foot on the clutch and go to move it to the next gear, it feels like its jumping out sometimes. And sometimes it feels like it is just naturally going to the next gear. Just wondering if this is normal because in my old car (VW GTI) this never happened.

I have that same problem sometimes. I have an 03 and when i drop the clutch it kicks back on me like it wants to shift on its own. but its really weird cuz it doesnt do it all the time. it seems to only do it when i drive it hard.

If you research this it is a SUPER common problem with RSX's... Acura has a TSB on this subject and I advisee you to look into it.

Ive been researching but cant find anything with the same problem. I just need to know if its bad for the car because if so i need to get it fixed before the warranty is up!

Well nvm I found some stuff on it and apparently we just have to deal with it. some people say if you change the tranny fluid it helps and other say did nothing for them. So I guess ill try that and hopefully ill be one of the lucky ones that it works for.

Ive been reading that for at least the type-s that the dealers are replacing the syncros in 5/6 gears. some people say it woks and some say it dont. So i guess everything is hit or miss.

Go to clubrsx.com and search the forum for "synchros" It's gonna be a grade A bitch but they have a copy of the service bulletin and tips on getting Acura to cooperate. The synchros in the trannies until 05 are peices of crap and Acura knows it.

Let them know that you know they know.

Tranny fluid = hit or miss
Replacing Synchros = curing the disease, not the symptoms.

I got this taken care of under warranty, but it is a very common problem. I always rev match and shift very diliberately now. So far the problem hasn't come back.

How long did ut take them to fix it? Ive been reading horror stories of dealerships taking up to 4 weeks in some cases.

I got the car back next day. They had the parts in stock, and the guy I talked to actually seemed to care about what he was doing

Do you trust the techs at your dealership? I know some are better than others, but I would even consider taking mine in to the dealer next to me. I know the guys that work there.
