Default FJO/1000cc RC's barely runs/idles (FR stage2)

So just got the full race stage 2gt kit installed (b18c), everything is running smoothly. Time for the new injectors/injector driver/fuel pump. After all that was installed it simply will not idle. It sounds like its only running on a couple cylinders and just dumping tons of gas into the cylinders (all the plugs are wet from fuel). The ecu was chipped and given a suitable baseline. Ive checked and double checked all the wiring but i cant find anything wrong. Timing has been checked multiple times. If anyone can give some direction it would make me a happy man

Thanks
-Rich

your suitable basemap isnt so suitable. get the car tuned before it washes the cylinder walls

ecu was chipped by phearable and supposed to be for a similar setup. When i say it wont idle its more like it barely runs. I wouldnt even attempt to drive the car anywhere as it is now. Could all that simply be from the basemap they put on?

making a 1000cc basemap and expecting it to work on similar setups is not always a good idea.

there are way too many variables when it comes to making basemaps for injectors that size. 1% of fuel is a significant difference, compared to that of smaller injector size.

Well i took off the injector driver, put in the old injectors and its back to how it was. The whole idea for a basemap was so we could drive it to tampa to get tuned (2.5 hour drive). How bad of an idea is it to drive it on stock tune with a 7psi spring?

This is one of the reasons they rent trailers. It's a lot cheaper than wasting an engine.U-haul gets $50 a day for a trailer and $40/day for a dolley.

yea I agree. I was simply under the impression that the basemaps put on the new ecu were going to 'get me by' long enough to drive over there. Thanks for the info guys.

If u have a basemap for 1000cc's without injector driver then it will run rich. FJO will make your car rich cause it opens the injectors much faster than honda resistor box. just use the honda resistor box and you should be fine.

well i know my 1000cc rc injectors wernt fun trying to get a idle. i have them on my street-drag car. & i can tell u this your going to put those injectors as low as they will go & your still going to run rich at idle, they arnt meant for a 4 cyl street car. your better with 750cc if u can make them work.

& its like they said basically imposible to make a map out of air with out tunning with 1000cc. a little fuel goes a long way with these bad boys.

to bad u dont have a afr in the car, then u could atempt the trip, good luck

Yep, small changes on the tune using the FJO is much different than a resistor box. When we did a base tune on my set up with 1600cc injectors and an FJO small percentage increases and decreases were A LOT compared to a resistor box ACCORDING to JDogg who did the base tune BUT he also had my car there and not just a GENERIC TUNE .

ALL IMPORT 1000cc's are easy to idle with resistor box. I never tried it with injector driver. I would never recommend anyone to get 750's versus 1000cc unless u live in Utah.

I had my precision 1000cc's idling like stock but my car sounds like V8 at idle with Precision 1600cc wired to FJO driver. I hear some people saying that they idle 1600cc's at 1000 rpm but I never seen proof. My car idles at 1200 rpm with 1600cc's.

well i had a hard time at first. but now in iddleing at 1000rpm. im maxed out as low as they can go & it wont idle any lower. im just saying to get 700rpm it takes a little work to do so, without sounding like your about to stall

I recall speaking to you on the phone & informing you that the setup was very simular & there is a good chance the map would work, however due to your FJO driver & the possible slight differences from setup to setup & the fact that you are running 1000cc injectors that there might be a possibility that the basemap will not work.

I hope the idea I provided you with concerning using a stock ecu & stock 240cc peak & hold injectors with the fjo driver allow you to determin if your fjo install is proper etc.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I agree & I informed him of this being a possibility before he placed his order.

Actually you spoke to the owner of the car But yes we are planning to try your idea with that. Basically we made this thread because it was running so horrible that it seemed that something had to be wrong and we were looking to see if anyone had ideas (which is why Doug called you today )

Thanks and I think we will be seeing you fairly soon.

I understand. The post you guys made kinda made it sound like I mis-represented the product/service I provided.

If you need anything or have any questions Doug has my cell phone number.
I will be more then happy to provide any input I can.
