3rd gear issues?
03 rsx-s
The problem im expierencing is when either upshifting or downshifting into 3rd gear it falls out. Actually it never goes in gear, it feels like it is but when i rev im actually in neutral. It makes a small grinding noise as well. I took it to the dealer and theyre taking care of it for free because I had just purchased the car 3 weeks ago. my manager also with the same car has this problem as well. Just wanna know if anyone has expierenced this problem?

I've got an automatic 02 rsx but I'm about to purchase a type-S
it seems its very common among this year for 3rd gear to grind
The acura dealers are probably already aware of it

I heard that, my '06 has 3rd gear pop-out and a problem engaging gear without rev-match. Every single year has problems.

The fact is that it is very common and fixing it is hit or miss. You can try changing you transmission oil but only a few people have said that works for them. Also Ive heard people taking it to the dealership and the dealership is either putting new syncros in 5/6 gears, but yet again some say it works for them and others say it did nothing, or there just telling people that its normal. So in the end i guess we just have to deall with it, or you can try all that stuff and hope your one of the lucky ones and it fixes the problem.
i took my car to the dealership...they fixed it for free. (warranty) they didnt really know the problem...what the manager told me was they replaced and parts that had excessive wear on it.2nd, 3rd gear, new flywheel bunch of new bearings, new fluids. and got the car back no problems.
