Turbo ex questions
first off... i believe this is my first post. I;ve got my first honda about a week ago and i'm looking to turbo my car. it's a 97 ex coupe auto. i kno what i need to do my turbo... well most of it. i'm thinkin i need a waste gate, exhaust manifold, turbo, intercooler, piping, and a blow off valve. not sure what else i need. first ques... i wanna go low boost. how much tuning is required for maybe 4-6 lbs of boost. car has 110,000 miles. is boost ok with the auto tranny? thx for the help in advanced. i couldn't find much help using the search button. maybe i jus dunno how to use it rite. thx again

If you're only running 4-6lbs of boost use a smaller turbo that has an internal wastegate...preferably one that can be controlled via a solenoid (electronically).
EDIT:
Maybe about an hour of street tuning, to 2 hours of dyno tuning...whichever...can swing either way, depending on who does it.
No, your auto tranny probably won't hold up, after u hit the passing gear a few times it'll blow out one of the shift valves or snap something else...
As far as your parts, I'm not sure if your stock injectors can handle it (they should be able to, think they're good till about 200whp), but I'd still upgrade the fuel system (ajustable aftermarket FPR and fuel rail, 440 saturated injectors, and a high flow fuel pump)...then again, ur not running a big setup for 6lbs tops...u could probably stay w/ the stock fuel system and be fine..

There's no reason to install a fuel rail for what he's looking to do.
Find someone local that will tune it, they can help you with what parts you need for engine management. That's the most important part of a turbo build and with ecu chipping so cheap, there's no reason not to go with a proper setup. There's a listing stickied in the FI forum for tuners in each area. (link)
I've never owned an automatic so I can't help you there, but whatever tuner(s) you talk with will probably have seen one or two in their day.
