Brief Question
I would like to get something a little larger than the 15" stock wheels, but still keep a stock rim look. Has anyone tried putting on some of the newer five star designed RSX or TL rims on their car? I tried searching and found nothing.
Thanks,
Thanks,
How hard are they to come by? Do they cost alot? I guess Ill check eBay and see whats floating around...
Thanks for the replies.
Edit: Here is the design Im talking about:

Ive seen the first generation RSX wheels on an ITR and they definatly looked horrible, but these are more fine cut and less bloated looking.

Yup!
The NSX fronts are 16" versions of the ITR wheels, forged of course...

i had a want for the front NSX wheels for a while until i read about fitment issues concerning offset and i think a hub size difference? obviously it can be done, but i settled on the just as sweet and easier to work with jdm 16s.

Wow, those do look nice. And I don't usually like OEM wheels.

That's correct. Front NSX wheels have a 70.1 mm center bore (that's the diameter of the big hole in the middle), which is bigger than the 64.1 mm of the ITR. So you're stuck with a choice between making the NSX wheels work using spacers and hubcentric rings, or risking the vibration problems that are common when the center bore is too big for the hub. Also, the offset is not correct and they rub on the ITR suspension. (I've tried it.)
Also, it's next to impossible to find a used set of four front NSX wheels. And they're pricey used, even more so when new.
If you like the look of the seven-spoke 16" NSX wheels, keep in mind that they are very similar in appearance to the stock 15" ITR wheels. The '94-96 NSX wheels are the same gunmetal color as the '00-01 ITR wheels; the '97-01 NSX wheels are a brushed aluminum finish with a clearcoat on top. So the gunmetal ITR wheels really don't look all that different from the NSX wheels (one inch diameter isn't all that noticeably different, IMHO), and if you like the brushed aluminum look, it would probably be cheaper to get a set of ITR wheels refinished than to find a set of four front NSX wheels, and you won't have offset or center bore issues.

After running with NSX wheels for 6 years let me share my feelings:
1 – Yes the NSX hubs are 70.1mm vs 64.1mm. I have run them with and without rings and don’t feel they are necessary. I have NEVER experienced any vibrations either way.
2 – The NSX wheels WILL rub on the inside fender IF you are running 215 series tires and have lots of camber. The will NOT rub if you run 205 series tires with lots of camber.
3 – The NSX wheels are VERY hard to find and as such you will find very few people running them.
4 – The NSX wheels are a tad heavier then the stock 15” wheels but lighter then the OE ITR 16” wheels.
5 – “The Shadow” who occasionally shows up on this board also runs NSX wheels without spacers and without problems (for 6 years as well)

You are simply lucky. I have encountered many people who have tried wheels with larger center bores than the hubs, who have been extra-careful about how they tighten the lug nuts (in the air, then re-tightening on the ground, etc), and still experienced vibrations. It's certainly a risk, and one you can avoid by getting wheels with the proper center bore (or hubcentric rings, preferably metal ones).

The '05-'06 Aspec rims are nice..they look like the TL aspecs. Might look good on an ITR.

Well, after a track day on my K1s my hubcentric rings were shrunk, and crispy.
I have been 5k + miles without, numerous rotations, wheel removal reinstall, and 2 track events. The centerbore does not matter if the lugnuts are tightened lightly to where they center the wheel.
Go try it for yourself, I think the people you encountered may not know that the lugnuts now center the wheel.

After seeing Baby NSX's car/rims at Expo last June. I want a set too!!
They look great as you can tell from the pic above.
But like nsxtasy said, its probally better just taking the easier option with ITR's.
