Default oem zc hood problem

so i bought this oem hood the other day

i went to put it on and it fit the hinges fine no problems there.
then i went to put the hood down and it didnt latch so i did adjustments and a new t-bar and then i could drop the hood and it will latch fine.
then i went to pop the hood and it would NOT pop so i have to open my door and stick my hand through the door/fender gap and lift the hood up a little, then go around and pull up the hood with out hitting the lever.
i noticed new scratches from the little spike on the striker assembly on the latch

so it hits the latch then with the force it goes in the hole(haha).

SOmy guess is that it forces it sideways to go in, and the spike is too far forward,a nd i adjusted the striker assembly so its as far back as possible, and the spike is too far forward that pulling the hood popper does absolutley nothing.... i need some help guys. help me pop my hood the right way.

Just like any hood, you should adjust the height of the latch with a big flathead screwdriver so is opens and closes properly. I'm running a ZC hood, fits 100%

Try opening up/enlarging/slotting the 2 bolt holes on the hood latch (the one thats on the hood itself). That way u can push it back further so it slides nicely into the hole

Edit: Whoops, didnt know u fixed it with a "custom" piece. Post a pic of it.
