Dizzy O-Ring..anybody know about this?
whats up h-t my car had some oil all over the tranny and i looked around and found that my dizzy o-ring was fucked up so i replced the sucker, do i get a better oil pressure?? or it does nothing but to stop the oil from goin everywhere? and if u leaking by the vtec solenoid does that make u loose oil pressure? or is it just a leak?? thanx
the O ring is jut a seal between the distributor and the head. The vtec seal leaking might cause a slight drop in oil pressure i sm not sure if it enough to cause a huge lose of pressure. You might want to make sure the distributor oil seal is not leaking. Take the dist cap off and look for oil inside it if there is you need to replace that seal also
You should not be getting oil inside the dizzy.
If you have Honda http://www.hondautomotiveparts.com is a good place to get OEM for cheap.
They have link to a Acura site.
You can also replace the spool valve gasket, that's the seal for the Vtec valve. For a D16 there like $14.00.
If you buy from Majestic place a big order and make it worth the effort. When was the last time you replaced the plug wires cap and rotor?
