How to adjust Koni Yellows on my 88 CRX, should I use the mtel dust cover
Hi, how do I externally adjust the rear koni yellows on my 88 CRX. (They are the same part number as an ITR)
Do I put the top part of the shock in a vice, push it in to fully compress it, and turn? Does turning it clockwise make it firmer or softer?

i would use my own weight. i didnt have a vice to use at the time. not sure if it would have helped.
i stuck the right size allen key at the top with the top hat on to help push down, then while leaning down on it to keep it compressed, just turn the top with the allen key. i think i used my foot to keep the shock body from rotating. actually i might have stuck a bolt in there for extra leverage too and stepped on it or something. yeah, its a bitch.
you feel it slide in as the adjuster engages. rotate all the way counter clockwise, full soft, then count quarter turns clockwise to the desired stiffness.

thanks, it looks like I have it on full soft right now then.
Before I had them on full stiff. I actually liked the ride a little bit better with the fronts on full soft and backs on full stiff than how it is now with all 4 on full soft. With the back ones on full soft, the back prokit springs seem a little too bouncy and hit the bump stops too easily.

No way, please dont tell me CRX model Koni yellows are not just dial adjustable!?!? I had the same remove and adjust Koni's on my Audi - DAMN, ain't that a pain... ugh...
somehow there are some "older" models floating around that are, specifically the eye bolt style suspension. the bottom perch is also welded to the body, doesnt have the c clips.

yes, they are a pain to adjust. In retrospect, I should have just gotten the 89-91 fork style shocks. But I got the rears new for $65 each on Tirerack, so it was a good deal.
I did some looking around online and didnt realize both version were being sold. That almost turned me off of the Koni's altogether.
