Ok guys and gals I have a question for you. Im swapping a Y8 manifold onto my Y7 motor. It will be turboed at the of the month. I've read and read about the IM swap, and have come across that using the Y8 injectors and fuel rail will cause the car to run rich. Now my question is with the car being boosted would it be better for me to run the y8's or y7's injectors? The motor is only going to be on 6lbs and tuned with Hondata. I know I should jump up to some bigger injectors but I figured w/ my setup i would be ok since im running a inline pump. But i've also read that the injectors are different sizes that the dx's are 190cc (i think) and can't rember what the ex's are (2XXcc i think).
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot

I am building a motor for next season. But as for now im going to rock what i have. Trying to put all my money into my other motor. Just going to have a little fun with it while i can.
So can anyone help me here? And yes the EX's are 240cc

How difficult is it to change out injectors? I know you want to do it all in one step and be done with it but since it is only like a 15 min project changing out the injectors just put the y7 injectors on so you dont get any cel. Then when you get the turbo, you are going to be under the hood anyways, change the injectors then.
Now if you want to hope and pray that the ex 240cc injectors will be enough search in the fi section. but if this is true <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by kala4nia »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ex's should be 240cc. go ahead and get some bigger dsm injectors. theyre about $50 for a set</TD></TR></TABLE> then pick some of these up. Thats what I would do.

Changing the injectors are not hard. Im going to install everything in one step as in swapping the IM and turboing the car. Swapping the injectors is not the question, teh question is would i be better off running the Y7's or the Y8's? Bc i've read when swapping out the IM and using a Y8 fuel rail and injectors will cause it to run rich. Would this be ok or better w/ FI?

The EX injectors are 240~250CC and if you are going to use your D16Y7 ECU the fuel tables are setup to run the 190CC at a higher duty rate so by using a larger injector you'll be running richer than you should. You can use a AFC piggyback to cut back the fuel a bit in N/A mode, but I would go with DSM units anyways if you plan to turbo and use the AFC to trim fuel as needed but invest on some dyno time to really tune.

I don't need the AFC hack as im going to be running Hondata. And as for the DSM's again im not spending anymore money on this motor. As im building another motor and this one is just to putter around...
Nevermind guys all of you keep refering back to DSM injectors when it has nothing at all to do with the single question i've asked. Thanks anyways...

i don't know the different specs of the different injectors. but i can tell you ex's are 240's. if the y7's are 190's, then once you get it running, you just go into the parameters of the hondata and switch your injector size. hondata will run whatever injectors you tell it to.
funny how people just post random **** about dsm's and afc's w/o even reading your question
some people think they sound smart by repeating random shiit they read w/o having any personal experience....
