Sticking accelerator
I have a 99 Accord ex and after the car has been sitting a while "8hrs or so" the accelerator sticks a bit when I initially press down. I know this may be a simple cleaning job but I am very, VERY limited in mechanical ability. Can someone walk me through a fix? I really want to learn.
Get a spray can of Berrymans B-12, and someone elses toothbrush, also some shop rags. Remove the air breather snorkle tube from the throttle body.
then you'll see the ring of crud around the throttle plate, hold the throttle wide open by wedgeing a screw driver under the throttle cable, etc.
Then spray the cleaner into the throttle plate area and scrub away the crud with the toothbrush you borrowed. repeat spray, scrub, and wipe as needed. Also scrub the crud off the plate itself. When it's all clean return the toothbrush to whoever you borrowed it from
When you restart the engine it might stumble a little from the carb cleaner, just rev it till it clears itself.

What he said, just substitute carb cleaner for throttle body cleaner (it's easier on your converter)
