any differences in the EK Hatchbacks during its 6th gen years?
I noticed the 96-98 EK Sedan looks a bit apart from the 99-00 ones. The latter has (imo) better looking headlamps and taillamps. And I was reading somewhere that the latter years receive a bit thicker sway bars too. Does these "upgrades" apply to the HB too?
Hatches never got a sway bar.
Yes, 96-98 and 99-00 front/rear ends were different.
The hatch latch was inside near the fuel lever on 96-98 hatches and on the hatch on 99-00 hatches.

Actually, no.
The trunk latch was on the inside for CX's, all years.
The trunk latch was on the hatch for DX's, all years.

Actually, you are WRONG. I have a 96 dx and it has the hatch release near the fuel release.

This is correct. Check a parts diagram first before posting false information

Yeah. I have a '97 DX. The hatch release is with the fuel door popper.

Really? Because my friend has a 97 dx with the latch on the hatch. Stock. My ex's brother has a 98 dx with the latch on hatch. Stock. My friend has a 99 cx with the latch in the car. Stock.
I may have been wrong, but i think it may not be determined by anything we're thinking of, possibly like where it was manufactured.

Its possible. Maybe honda changed to the "latch on hatch" toward the end of the 98 model year. Was the car in an accident and the parts replaced with newer ones (not sure that would work)? Just a guess...I have no idea

The 97 hatch did have the hatch hit, but it wasn't replaced, because you can see the paint overspray and the orignal dent. Also, if they replaced it with newer parts, they'd have to replace a TON of parts, such as the gas-door lever, take out the old cable, replace the entire thing. Not something they'd do with as cheap as the fix looked.
