New speakers
Hi, I have a pair of 6.5" 3 way speakers, called Soundstream Xstream series, which came with the car, in the front. They are 150 watts xts brand, and it says 3 way, which I don't know what that means?? I'm looking to see whether I should stick with these, and if they are any good or If I should go for something different. I've been looking at the affordable Pioneer G series for 50 bucks, or the A series for more power for 80 bucks. I need to know which is a good brand in order. At best buy, I was told it goes like this: infinity, pioneer, alpine, sony, etc forgot the rest. Thanks
Actually you already have a pretty good speaker... http://www.soundstream.com/speakers-xstream.htm installed properly they will sound as good or better the the others you mention.

hell naw soundstream is a good line of speakers. So are there amps. The company has been it the game for a while and there products are real good quality. I work with them and like them.
3 way means just that, ur signal is divided 3 ways. Lows, Mids, Highs. If u look ull notice 3 different speakers in one unit. It breaks down like this. Woofer, Midrange driver and Tweeter. The more u have, the better imaging u will get.
hey guys, I have pioneer 220 watts in the back, and xts 150 watts 6.5 in the front. It seems that the back ones are overpowering the front ones, so maybe I need to buy front ones that are at or around 220 watts, maybe 200 watts to feel as if the ones in the back arent louder than the ones in the front.

Is it just me or is it obvious that turning the fader towards the front would solve this problem?

Wattage doesn't matter. What matters is how you power them. You can have 150 watt fronts and 220 watt rears, and if you have a 150 watt amp for the fronts and a 20 watt amp for the rears, guess which one will be louder.

What is the model number of the Pioneer speakers?
As has been mentioned you could just fade to the front, although that would be a "band-aid" if you have an amp turning down the gain, [also mentioned] would be better, because rear speakers should only be used as "rear fill" they need very little power going to them also one of the things that is making them sound "more powerful" is the tweeters, high frequency is very directional, and only a mid-range/mid-bass driver should be used in the rear, because you already have the speakers, just disable/disconnect the tweeters.
Are you using an amp, [other then the built in one in the HU]?
