Default HFP coilovers on ep3, a question

Like so many before me I have applied the HFP oem coilover setup and decided maybe I want just a little bit more drop. I have thought about adding some Eibach springs on the OEM HFP struts, but my question is are the struts themselves any heaveir duty than the standard oem ones that came on the car?

I have searched and read people saying both that the HFP struts are made of tougher stuff and some folks say they are not. I am hoping for some definitive answers here.

Thanks, Giff

I believe they are valved differently vs stock and they should be stiffer. But I wouldn't swap out them with new springs because they were designed to work together with the springs that come with them. If I were you I'd just leave it alone. driving a lower car doesn't mean that it will handle better.

Agreed...
It's definitely stronger than factory.

I just wouldn't swap it out because they are still good suspension..
Just save up for some reasonable shock and spring combo.

just a guess, but, i would think that the struts are only valved differently inside and the outside is the same as stock since they are both made by the same company.

does anyone have the part numbers for the front struts? i only need the struts for my ep3...
