audio system problems (deck turns off passing 22)
sup guys,
i got a alpine 9853 stereo deck
some 3 way alpine speakers (rated at 120 watt rms)
3 of them are alpine
1 of them is a generic brand rated at 220 watt rms
these are 6 1/2 speakers in my integra.
for some reason when i pass 22 on my volume
my whole system turns off..
any clue why my system is doing this?

If the sound cuts out but the HUs lights are still on its a good bet you have a shorted out speaker or speaker lead, HUs protection circuit is kicking in, will it turn back on if you turn HU off then on again?
It could also be a problem of not enough current, on most Honda/Acuras the 12V+ constant in the stock radio harness is fused by a 7.5A fuse in the under hood fuse box, [94 up tegs] the 7.5A circuit is used for other things in the car also, the Alpine CDA-9853 has a 10A fuse for it's constant, [yellow], the stock ground is also lacking, kind of an in/out bottlenecks for current.
Whatever the problem ends up being, I would recommend you run a fused 12ga lead directly from the batt. to behind the HU and connect the HUs yellow to it, don't forget to cap off the stock constant, DO NOT replace the 7.5A with a bigger fuse, it will not help and can do damage.
You can leave the ground on the stock lead if you use a metal back brace from the HU to the stock rear support bar, you should have a back brace there anyway.
One more thing you can try this simple test to see if it's a short causing the problem, use the fader to fade all the way to the front or rear speakers, then turn up the volume, if it still cuts out fade all the way the other way, if it no longer cuts out the short is on the other speakers, fade back half way and use the balance to balance all the way left or right the bad speaker or speaker lead(s) is the one that when on still cut out the system, EG; if the system only cuts out if the front right speaker is on, then its the bad speaker or there is a short in the wiring for that speaker.
