Default Swapping frames???

Anyone ever swap their old frame with a new one and registered it? That's perfectly legal right? Does the chp actually check if the enigne # and the vin # on the frame actually match up at the dmv like they do with cars?

why would you want to? unless of course it was bent up but even then it seems silly to swap frames. just got another bike of the same type and use what's left of the other as parts or part that old bike out and get something new

If the new frame is legit then you'll have no problem. The dmv or where ever you take it will check the numbers then you will get a new registration with the new engine #/ frame #.

assuming its from the same model year, you will have no problem at all. provide receipts for the frame when doing the inspection will make things a whole lot smoother

No they do not check the motor#'s to see if they match the frame numbers. And no they wil;l not give you new motor numbers. all you do is swap it and take it down there and let them look at it and call it a day.If it has a clean title not salvage all you do is swap it and you dont even have to take your bike down there.
