what difference will i get with a skunk2 intake manifold?
Well just recently bought 98 integra GSR 2mnths ago. All i done to my motor is Full cat exhuast and DC headers and intake. Im bouts to swap my manifold to skunk2. So i wanna know wat difference will i get with the skunk2 manifold with stock internals. Cuz i heard if runing on stock internals you'll lose mid range power. Any suggestion on doin the swap or not? Thanks
you will lose a little low end, but gain a bit of high end
it is a noticeable difference over stock, feels much better IMO

what are you planning to do? is your car for daily driving? or for drag? what reason for you to upgrade? if is daily driving, leave it stock, if you want to race, upgrade your manifold, head, etc. for mild gain

I got a 97 GSR with i/h/e, 65mm t.b. and skunk2 i.m. I noticed more pull in the 7k rpm and higher range. But below 7k rpm it pulls much less than with stock i.m. So if its your daily driver, like mine is, you won't benefit unless your gonna be reving really high. My tuner tells me though that with cams, you'll be able to gain a lot more mid range power, which is what i'm hoping for this weekend when i install my blox type b cams. Skunk2 products are more beneficial for drag cars not daily drivers, unless you like reving high in the city and attracting attention from cops.
thanks for the info. well its a daily driven car for now. i just wanna pack some HP so i'll pull on other cars out there. ya know! not too fast but enough vtec power! but later on gonna do internal work on it. so i just wanted to know sum info on the manifold with stock internals will do. how high will i be able to rev limiter rev up to if i do the intake manifold?
from what i understand, you wont get much out of it with some supporting mods. p&p the head and CTR cams will do wonders though.
im running the Blox manifold on my GSR and it seems better. however, i had the manifold, thermal gasket, and my powerchamber intake all installed at the same time, so i cant really say how much diference the manifold did by itself

I wouldn't rev too high until you upgrade your valvetrain.

well right now i cant afford cams and all them internal stuff right now gots to save up first. being a college student and paying car bills and stuff, so yup! i might just do the manifold swap. its gonna give me top end power plus the skunk manifold looks beter than the gsr manifold. so later on i'll do sum internal work. thanks for all the replies
If you wanna save some cash you can get a blox i.m for like $160, they're like $60 cheaper than skunk2 and just as good performance wise. I got a skunk2 in my car, and my homeboy got a blox in his, we got same exact setup except the manifolds, and our cars are dead even heads up.
