Throttle Body spacer
I was thinking about buying a throttle body spacer for my 92 civic Si. I was wondering if anybody can tell me if they make that big of a difference and where would be a good place to fing one any help would be appreciated thanks.

Yeah go on http://www.inlinefour.com they should have them on there. They might only have high dollar ones though. And all I know about them is my friend put one on his Taho and it made a differance. Before he could not churp the tires at all and now he can get a quick, but short spin on them. It is small but for such a small a non noticable piece it is good.

I want to see some SOLID PROOF that throttle body spacers even make any increase in whp and/or torque on an other wise bolt-ons Honda engine.
I think it's utter bullshit personally.
No offense intended for the topic starter at all bro - you are doing the right thing by researching and asking questions, which is good, but don't believe everything to read/hear about parts like this.
The fact that a Chevy Tahoe can chirp gears after a spacer is installed means ZERO for a guy asking about a TB spacer for his D16Z6 engine. People swear by **** like "The Tornado" and "Electric Supercharger" but when it comes down to hard facts from real cars on real dynos it means squat on a Honda civic that already has a very efficient intake tract.
Someone bring me some dyno proof, and it cannot be for any other vehicle other than a Honda 4 cylinder without major internal engine mods and/or boost, and it cannot be from any manufacturers' website for obvious reasons.

I hear that ***** improves airflow and horsepower by 40 whp, go get it man, dont listen to these guys, go dyno your car and shove it in their faces
IMO honestly, it's just a gimmick like the tornado, sure it'll create a vortex, but when it's going through the runners of the IM, it'll just get turbulent again. might add 2-3whp MAX... if your lucky

they're messing with you man
spacers were originally used under carbeurators to allow more time for the air and fuel to atomize better....I don't see benefits on our cars. Spend the money elsewhere

i had one on my all motor h23 and as far as i can tell it adds a whistley sound and potentially gives small unnoticable gains in the low end. why did it do it? not really for hp but because i could. get a cheap one and enjoy the vacuum leaks
Basicly what the spacer does it creates a larger plenum. All that vortexing is B/S, it just allows more air to be stored in the intake plenum, in turn it will help out throttle responce, but since you in an SI it wont help much, now if you had a y7 (which have NO plenum at all pretty much) it would help out quite a bit.
