oh sry i see you have a gs-r ignore my response about the base. yes a type s muffler is better than the base.

The lengths of the Type-S components are different, correct? Isn't the header-cat section longer by about 3-4", and the catback (mainly the midpipe) is correspondingly shorter?

Sounds about right.

A base model exhaust is pretty much like a civic, GSR, whichever normal muffler.
Type S is a bit longer (Forgot how much) but since you're gonna do it at a muffler shop, yes... it's a tad bit better... The 05-06 is better than the 02-04
