ditto. No junkyards around you? If there is why not just go buy a stock one and keep it away from your mom.

I live in the Valley (Cali) too. Strict smog regs. But my cheap ebay intake was no problem a few months ago. When the smog guy was looking through the engine bay, I asked him if the intake is a problem. He said that as long as its got the breather hose, its no problem. Another tip he gave me, is to never take an older car for smog on a hot day. He said he was surprised my car passed, old civics / crxes don't usually pass on very hot days.

Why the hell does everybody try to pass the smogs, then go and mod your car so that it makes the emissions worse? I mean the smog regulations are there for a reason. I live in Ohio and I visited LA this summer and it was horrible. There was so much smog it took until like 1 or 2 in the afternoon to burn off. Can't you see that you're just making it worse? They're trying to clean it up and you're just f'ing it up for everybody else. I'm no environmentalist by any means, but when you see the effects of all that pollution, why keep making it worse?

^^ Because they really and for truly need an extra 2whp for their lame street racing scene that f's it up for everyone else who dares to drive a Honda in California. Though on the real, a modified car that's properly tuned will have better emissions than a stock car.

I don't believe there is a CARB legal intake for the DX, you'll just have to hope your smog guy doesn't care. Otherwise AEM and Injen are CARB legal.

Those are the only two I could think of. They aren't cheap though.
