driver side window
I own a 99civic ex and i went to put my window up the other night and it would not go up. I noticed that it seemed to be off track a little so i tried to move it around and had no luck. Then i noticed that the front of the window near the mirror was on the wrong side of the weather seal. The seal should hav been on the outside but it was now on the inside of the wiindow.
Basically i am trying to see if there is ne way to fix it my self or if i need to bring it to a mechanic(which i really dont hav the money for)

I had the same thing happen to my 95 dx. Although, it is all manual. Anyway, it got cold one day and when i rolled the window down, the weather stripping folded somwhere in the door and it never worked right again. Even after I took the door apart and unfolded it, it kept folding over. mine wouldn't roll down all the way, so I would just smash it down the rest of the 3 inches so I could put my arm out the window, and I eventually bent the scissor arm that rolls the bitch up. Anyway, I got a new one of those and a whole new door stripping. bout 100 for each and then paid a window shop 60 bucks to put it in. I've done all the work on my car that has been done to it, but I didn't want to expletive up the window as I use it every day, and it's easy to do. spend the money and don't be disappointed. good luck
same exact thing happened to me.
i got it looked at and found out i needed a new window regulator. that sucked.
it ended up costing me almost 300 to get it fixed, but in a place like palm springs during the summer it was well worth the price to not get burned by the sun. haha. hope it works out!

This is a really easy fix, and if you have a manual, it will make what I am about to tell you far easier. Your window is probably out of the track, and you just need to take the inside panel off of your door to gain access to your window/rail. You just need to...
1. Take the screw out of the panel where your handle is and remove that panel.
2. Take the screw out of the panel where your window controls are (if its a 2-door).
3. Take the three screws out where your speaker is (not the ones holding the speaker in place, but the other three in the same area).
At this point you should be able to take the inside panel off and gain access to your window/track. Then in able to take the window off the cross-brace there are two hex screws that need to come out. The problem is that you need to be able to roll the window down to a certain point, and you will see what I am talking about if you decide to do this.
Once you take out the 2 hex screws from the cross-brace, the window will come free, and at that point, it is just a matter of trial-and-error as far as getting the window back in the track.
I am sorry if this is not super clear, but I am not used to explaining walk-thru's on here. If you have any further questions, post up and I will try my best to answer them.
